Logistics & Terrain

Terrain style. A mix of hard-packed dirt single-track, secondary jungle trails, and paved park connector networks (PCN).

The killer variable. Suffocating ambient humidity layered over sharp, punchy roller climbs that spike the heart rate without giving you long descents to recover.

As a hybrid trail-PCN event, the technical hurdle isn't vertical mountain climbing, but shifting gears. You will transition from fast, flat concrete stretches directly into muddy, root-strewn forest single-track, requiring constant stride adjustments under oppressive canopy heat.

Vertical Climbing Mechanics

Prioritize high-cadence tempo blocks on flat ground immediately followed by short, punchy hill repetitions. Focus heavily on heat acclimation runs during peak sun hours to adapt your cardiovascular system to the low-airflow jungle sections.

Nutrition Scaling

The intense humidity forces a massive sweat rate. Target rapid-absorbing liquid carbs and gels to avoid gastrointestinal distress on the high-impact flat sections. Keep sodium intake aggressive to prevent cramping in the stagnant forest air.
